New CEO for OCI Nitrogen

 
 
OCI Nitrogen is pleased to announce that Gert Jan de Geus will succeed Renso Zwiers as CEO of OCI Nitrogen on 1 October. Following his appointment as OCI Nitrogen’s COO in 2010, Gert Jan de Geus was responsible for fertilizer, ammonia and melamine production activities in Geleen and Rotterdam (Netherlands). Previously, he was Director Operations at DSM Agro.
 
Renso Zwiers has served as CEO since 2010, when DSM Agro and DSM Melamine were acquired by OCI NV (previously, Orascom). Under his leadership, OCI Nitrogen experienced quantitative and qualitative growth by investing in its plants in Geleen and its terminal in Rotterdam. Increasingly, OCI Nitrogen specialists have also been sent abroad to support fertilizer plants in North Africa and the development of new chemical plants in the United States. Renso Zwiers has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of the OCI Fertilizer & Chemicals Group to which OCI Nitrogen belongs. With production sites in the United States, Egypt, Algeria, the Netherlands and China, the Group is one of the biggest nitrogen fertilizer manufacturers in the world and the largest manufacturer of methanol in the United States.Many of the Group’s staff members work at the Geleen site in the Netherlands.
OCI Nitrogen’s focus for the next few years will be on optimizing its production sites and perfecting its service to customers by streamlining its distribution.
