OCI Nitrogen ranks among the market leaders in Europe in the field of nitrogen fertilizers and is the world's largest producer of melamine. The plants are mainly located in Geleen, the Netherlands. The company’s annual production capacity includes a sellable ammonia capacity of 0.5 mtpa, a sellable nitrate capacity of 1.15 mtpa of CAN (increasing to 1.45mt in 2012) and a sellable melamine capacity of 0.24 mtpa.
On May 31, 2010, the fertilizer and melamine activities of DSM were sold to ORASCOM Construction Industries. Together they are part of OCI Nitrogen, which is headquartered in Geleen, the Netherlands. ORASCOM Construction Industries owns 100% of the company.

OCI Agro is a producer of ammonia and high-nitrogen fertilizers for grasslands and agricultural crops and the market leader in the Netherlands. It also ranks among the market leaders in Germany, France and Belgium. OCI Agro, which operates a production site in Geleen, produces about 1.6 million tons of fertilizers per year. OCI Agro realized net sales of EUR 338 million in 2009. |
OCI Melamine is the world’s largest producer of melamine. The main application of melamine is a resin in wood-based panels and laminates used for furniture and flooring. OCI Melamine has a plant in the Netherlands and also produces melamine in joint ventures in China (OCI Nitrogen 49%) and Indonesia (OCI Nitrogen 60%). In 2009 OCI Melamine realized net sales of EUR 151 million. |
